Mass effect is a well loved series, one that it’s nigh impossible to screw up….

Well, maybe it isn’t too hard to mess up.
Jokes aside, even Andromeda was a pretty good game, it was just completely overshadowed by the previous trilogy. Speaking of, time to talk about a series that is near and dear to my heart.\

The Mass Effect Trilogy was just completely remastered, and by god it was one hellova trip ;down memory lane. But let me break everything down to kinda give you guys an idea of what you would be getting into.
Before actually reviewing it I feel like I must admit my bias. I loved Mass Effect 2, and probably put 200 hours into it when I was younger. I have a strong bias in favor of praising this game series. So, keep that in mind while you read this.
So, what exactly did they change in this new iteration of the Mass Effect Franchise? Well for one they increased the quality of the graphics to be close to on par with the third game. This graphics fix doesn’t work as well in the first game, but the second looks immaculate. Another change that they made was involving gunplay in the first game. It was kinda shaky, and felt more like Shepard was a fresh combatant rather than the seasoned warrior that they are. They also removed a quest line that they lost the source code to. It was a well received DLC that people liked. Basically it was a combat sim that you could max out and earn an apartment. Here’s more on why they didn't add the Pinnacle Station DLC <URL>.
Here's a video review that I found entertaining and accurate!
Let’s go from fixes and all that boring stuff into actually playing the game and whether or not it is worth the 60 dollar price tag using a set of metrics that gamers actually use, playing the game!
I managed to beat the series with an average play time of 51 hours a game. Which, of course, is 153 hours. I’m a bit of a completionist when it comes to games like this.
Anyway, the gunplay in ME1 was awesome, it felt like night and day. I was actually able to play my preferred playstyle (sniping) without ripping my hair out. I also really enjoyed that the game seemed more fluid. Loading screens weren’t abysmal, and space looked beautiful. I got a solid playthrough going. On to ME2
Mass Effect 2 is by far my favorite game in the franchise. In my opinion the galaxy opens up, as does the concept of the galactic community as a whole. This is also the game where a lot of combat mechanics were ironed out. The graphics were jaw dropping, the combat was solid, and the game ran better than before.
The same was true with Mass Effect 3, the game had nostalgia at it’s back, and solid gameplay with minimal crashing. All in all it was a lot better than any other gaming purchase that I’ve made in the past few months.
I know, this is a bit brief. But if there is an interest for it, I kinda want to try my hand at writing a gameplay walkthrough. Let me know if that sounds interesting at all by messaging my twitter; @3115gnr.
