My name is Brandon Fenters, I’ve been a gamer since before I could walk. I’m currently enrolled at Longwood University, and I’m 20 years old. Enough about my bio bullshit, time to talk about gaming. It started for me with the kiddy games like Elmo and friends on a dvd. Eventually, I got my first console, the Nintendo GameCube; I must have put at least 200 hours into Pokemon Gale of Darkness, and that doesn’t even count towards the several GameBoy games that I would play on it. As time passed my interests evolved; my next console was the Xbox 360. I accumulated over 20k gamerscore just from single player games at the ripe old age of 12. Then as high school loomed over my shoulder I dipped my toe into PC gaming with an MMORPG called Star Wars:The Old Republic. I started playing as it came out and played it off and off throughout high school. It’s through that game that I met some of the best friends that I have to this day. But that happens later, I had also gotten my hands on the Playstation 4, I proceeded to no life the various titles that came out, never playing hard enough to plat any of them except for Spider-Man PS4 (Which didn’t happen until last week).

Now that I hit my college years I have dove headfirst into the spiraling shitshow that is PC gaming. I’ve met two of my better friends through gaming, and out of respect for them I’ll use their gamertags; Noctsunamun and Zonhur. I met both of them through SWTOR; and in order I met Noct then Zon. Through Noct I was able to network to other people and into other games. I found that my desire to play with people that I knew in real life (IRL) started to diminish; I just had so much more fun playing with the friend group that I had just met. I networked through Noct to meet a few other friends online. For reference their usernames are Blered, Blitzzz, Gabe, Te, Lokka, and Waffle. These interactions have helped me grow into who I am today. Since my background in gaming has helped me thus far in this shitstorm that is life, I assume that it will continue to be a major influence on my life. I look forward to the future of the gaming industry, and I’ll end up nerding out about it anyway, hopefully I can nerd out with you all!
